Village Time: What’s it all about?
Last year one of the key pieces of feedback that we received about the conference was that it was getting very big and hard to connect in a meaningful way with members from other chapters and with the overseas volunteers in attendance. This year we’ve brought you Village Time to put you into small groups of people that come from different chapters that bring in different experiences. We’ll run some activities, but we also hope you will take this opportunity to get to know your village and look to them to support you in your learning throughout conference!
Village Time will focus on:
- Preparing (or frontloading) you for things that are coming up on the conference schedule.
- Allowing the necessary time to actively debrief and reflect on your experiences so far.
- Creating a ‘home base’ (insert your village name here!) of familiar faces and names in a conference with so many faces and names!
The take home message: The people were asking for more time with the people, and we’ve given you…THE VILLAGE, PEOPLE!
